Great Straps

I'm almost glad I lost two of the original straps, so that I could order these new versions. The bikes would often come loose on some harsh bumps, requiring me to add other tie downs. Now that I put these new straps on, they hold great. I just took our bikes on a 2,000 mile trip behind my truck camper and they stayed put all the way. I used the two original straps I still have to double strap the outside bike for extra insurance. These are a nice upgrade to the original straps!

Close but not quite

Replacement hold down straps are not of original design for the older sportsrack. The retention holes are round. The original straps have square holes. You are literally trying to put a round strap over a square peg. I have to use needle nose pliers to get the straps to secure. I would not recommend purchasing these if you have the older sportsrack with the square peg.

Replacement straps -Holes too small but may be able to use

I tried to put one of the new straps on my 15+ year old bike rack. I couldn’t get it to hook on. Strap is stiff rubber and I couldn’t stretch it enough. But my arthritic hands may have been partly responsible . I will try cutting a small slit in the hole to make it open wider.

Works great!

I bought my rack used from someone that had lost the straps. These fit perfect, and they work great!

SportsRack Replacement Straps

I have an older model and these straps are bit of a tight fit. They work fine. Just hard to get on.

Glad to hear your still using one of our bike racks! Thanks for the review on the straps.
