GarageMate Mitt Slide Dirt And Grit Separator For Car Wash

This grit catcher works okay, but is awkward somehow. Not sure what it is. It's plenty sturdy enough, and I don't know how it could be designed better. Not sure if I'll keep using it. It's certainly a good item to have, especially when washing a dirty car.

I now have a selection of grit guards and this is my second favorite. Detail Guards are the nicest in my opinion. But this is a great option if you want a simple one piece design that goes up the side of your bucket.The fitment is pretty good. It is a little too wide for my bucket and when I push it down my bucket gets oval shaped. That is not really a problem though as long as you can get it all the way to the bottom of the bucket to prevent rocking. There are 2 little nubs that they say you can cut off. I haven't tried that yet because it seems a little janky to me, but I may end up trimming them down with my dremel eventually,It seems to do the job very well. I was scared that I would see dirt floating in my water, but the design at the bottom seems to do a good job preventing that.One thing that I don't like about it is not really the fault of the product, but the way I store things. I always put my 2 buckets together and grit guards at the bottom with all of my chemical bottles sitting on top. Since this takes up so much room in the bucket I can't really store more than 1 or 2 bottles. Again, nothing against the product. It just doesn't work well with the way I do things.Overall I am pleased and imagine you will be too.

Place this in your clean water bucket to get the junk off your wash mitt. Works well to keep it clean and scratches to a minimum.

This is one of the best designs out there. You can rub the mitt right on this and scrape the dirt right off with an up and down motion. Once your wash is over you can pull it out and rinse the bucket out. I will be keeping this in my wash bucket from now on. This is much easier to maintain than the ones that just sit on the bottom.

When I place the order I was worrying the material and quality of this dirt and grit separator. I bought one before and the material is much thinner and lighter than this one and broke less than 6 months. WHen I get the box of this purchase i know this is different, it is heavy and solid. Also like the design that this is laying n the side instead of the lay flat to the bottom of the bucket. Price is not the cheapest on the market but I am happy and willing to pay a little more to get one that last a longer time. If it can also some other color choice like red, navy or green then will be perfect lol
