Twistep Dog Step for SUV's
Twistep is an instant, multi-use step that helps your dog enter and/or exit the vehicle. It attaches to the hitch receiver of your vehicle and stores under the bumper when not in use.
Twistep provides your pet with lower-impact, lower-stress access into and out of a vehicle. Repeated jumping into and out of a vehicle can aggravate or even cause serious conditions like arthritis, leg injuries, back sprains and other spinal damage. And lifting a large dog into a vehicle isn’t easy!
Twistep helps dogs of all ages. Young dogs can avoid unnecessary stress on growing hips and elbows. Active dogs can appreciate a step up at the end of a long day of hiking, hunting and other outdoor activities. Twistep provides older dogs, who may suffer from arthritis and who can no longer enter a vehicle on their own, with a much-needed assist.
The TWISTEP fits most SUV's. We have another model made specifically for a pick-up truck.
Note: The following vehicles require the TWISTEP Extension Bracket (item #3053) to provide additional clearance for the spare tire:

A minimum of 16” ground clearance is required from the lower-edge of the receiver. It does not fit a 2019-Present Subaru Ascent and most mini-vans due to either the bumper configuration and/or ground clearance.
Twistep was designed for single hand use, so you can have a leash in your hand, while you easily position the step into place. You simply lift the T-Handle, and pivot the step into position. TWISTEP® easily swivels out from under the vehicle in a few seconds just when you need it. And it tucks out of the way under the bumper when you don’t.
Unlike ramp alternatives, with Twistep there’s no time consuming set up required. There’s no heavy, awkward or muddy items that you have to stow in the back cargo area of your vehicle. And importantly, there’s no more lifting!
Twistep has a full size platform and a special non-skid surface designed especially with dogs in mind. Twistep holds up to 400 pounds when using a Class III hitch - 2" receiver and comes with a corrosion-resistant coating and a 1-year warranty. Twistep is simple to install and has a minimal effect on ground clearance.

What maintenance do I need to do on my Twistep?
We recommend you clean your Twistep monthly with gentle soap and water, to ensure sand, grit and other debris do not interfere with Twistep's smooth operation. In salty conditions, wash the Twistep thoroughly at least once every week.Remove the Twistep from your vehicle completely any time you drive through an automated car wash.Routine lubrication of Twistep is required around the T-Handle shaft to ensure the knob lifts easily and platform rotates. Apply lubrication to the round rotation surface, the area directly below the tower assembly. We recommend using Use 3-In-One® generously and often
What if my Twistep is difficult to rotate?
Check for rust and to see if your T-Handle has been damaged. Remove the T-Handle with a wrench to see if it is bent or if the tip has been damaged.
Is the Twistep height adjustable?
The Twistep for SUV’s has a variable of approximately 3” of height adjustment.
The Twistep for Trucks as a variable of approximately 2” of height adjustment.
How far out does the Twistep extend when it is in the stowed position?
This would depend on several variables. The location of your bumper, how your receiver hitch is installed and which setting you have used to attach your Twistep. Please contact us if you need specific measurements.
What does the warranty cover on my Twistep?
There is a 1 Year Limited warranty for the Twistep.

Do I need to assemble anything when it arrives?
The Twistep comes fully assembled but you may need to adjust the height, a hex key is provided for this action.
